Thank YOU for making a lovely website for me to stop by! No, I didn't know Papaya King is the original, and furthermore I refuse to accept it! Well.. alright, I accept it, but 72nd and broadway still beats it out on iconic status.

Hey thanks for stopping by the website! I recall Gray's Papaya having 50 cent hot dogs when we were in highschool, and at some point a two dogs and a drink for 1.95.

But nowadays a plain hot dog at Papaya King is 1.85, the Musher is a little more. Damn, I just got hungry looking at the pic again. Cooked just right!

You know Papaya King is the original? The one on 86th Street has been there since 1932!

This looks simultaneously delicious and revolting. I will have to get one - although I just had a fight with a dude at Gray's Papaya on the west side because after he told me a my hot dog was 1.50 and I said, " didn't they used to be .75 cents like, last week" he told me I was crazy.
Which may or may not be true.
Glad to read your stuff! I didn't realize you had a blog until facebook told me this morning. Hooray.
